Special Requirements of Position:
To have versatility to monitor the splash park attendees while maintaining the grounds. Outside of the summer season, work tournaments or other sporting events on an as needed basis.
Kind of Work / Essiential Functions (This is descriptive, not restrictive as to all tasks included in this position):
•Unlock/Lock gates and roll up doors. •Turn the water system on/off. •Check the working order and maintenance of all splash park equipment. •Sweep leaves and pick up trash on the grounds. Empty trash cans. •Enforce all written Splash Park rules. •Performs any duties assigned by the Recreation Director.
Work Environment/Hours Worked:
Will be required to work outside in the heat at the Splash Park and other Recreation facilities if needed. Work hours will be on the weekends. Fridays 3pm-7pm, Saturdays 11am-7pm, Sundays 11am-6pm.
This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directions from the Maintenance Superintendents concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department. Must be able to communicate these policies to the general public.
Phone, various sports equipment, cash drawers and Splash Park equipment.
Standing and sitting.
Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing. To be able to comprehend verbal and written direction and instructions from Maintenance Superintendents.
Human Relations Involvement:
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.
Must be 21 or older and have weekend availability.
Prior background in ground maintenance. First aid certified.
