Special Requirements of Position:
To assist in teaching drama and/or musical theatre to children in a community theatre type format.
Kind of Work / Essiential Functions (This is descriptive, not restrictive as to all tasks included in this position):
To assist in instructing theatre classes. To be the assistant representative for the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department theatre classes for interpretation of the rules and regulations. To be responsible to report to the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department any problems that may occur during class.
Work Environment/Hours Worked:
Will be required to work at assigned location of class. Work hours will be determined by schedule set for musical theatre classes by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division.
This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directions from the Leisure Service Manager and Leisure Service Supervisor concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division. Must be able to act as a mediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during class.
Stereo equipment and set props.
Standing, bending and moving during musical theatre class instruction.
Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing. Must be able to comprehend verbal or written direction and instructions from Leisure Service Manager and Leisure Service Program Supervisor.
Human Relations Involvement:
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.
Must be 16 years old or older and have a background theatre.
Background in Theatre/Drama.
