Kind of Work / Essiential Functions (This is descriptive, not restrictive as to all tasks included in this position):
To instruct gymnastic classes. To be the representative for the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department at gymnastic classes for interpretation of the rules and regulations. To be responsible to report to the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department any problems that may occur during class.
Work Environment/Hours Worked:
Will be required to work at assigned location of gymnastic class. Work hours will be determined by schedule set for gymnastic classes by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division.
Communication Skills:
This individual must be able to read and to comprehend directions from the Leisure Service Manager and Leisure Service Supervisor concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division. Must be able to act as a mediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during class.
Equipment Used:
Stereo equipment, gymnastic equipment
Physical Involvement:
Helping to move gymnastic equipment. Standing, bending, walking and moving constantly during class instruction time.
Mental Involvement:
Must be able to communication in English both orally and in writing. Must be able to comprehend verbal or written direction and instructions from Leisure Service Manager or Leisure Service Supervisor.
Human Relations Involvement:
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be age 16 or older and must have advanced knowledge in gymnastics.
Desirable Qualifications:
Prior background in gymnastics or gymnastics instruction.
